How to add the sitemap of blogspot to Google Web Master Tools

Sitemap is an easy way to inform about the site to Search engine crawling. It’s very important to web masters to index own web pages in search engine.A site map provides details when update the site, what are the links in the site, how often web usually changes etc…Basically sitemap in xml or html form.
So sitemap submission is a very importent thing to a web master. There is a google tool to add site map in Google search engine crawling.
You should add a site map to Google WebMaster tools.
If you have a basic web site or hosting blog you can easily create a xml sitemap by using an online site map creator site.(eg: Create your sitemap). After creating the xml sitemap download it and then upload it to your website root. Then you can give the URL of the sitemap to Google WebMaster tool. That process is very easy!
But if you are blogger in Blogspot,That process couldn’t be used.Because you don’t have an access with root directory of the blogsite. So you can’t create a sitemap
But there is an alternative which is you can submit your feed atom(RSS feed URL).
By default the feed atom is automatically created by Blogspot. You don’t need to do that process.

You can submit a sitemap of the blogspot ,doing following simple steps.
1.Login to your Google account and choose Google WebMaster tools. Then submit the blog.

2.Verify the submitted blog.

3.Click on the verify your site link and select “Add META tag ” method.

Copy the code and click verify button.

4.Open the blogspot dashboard and select Template tab and Edit HTML section. Now you should paste the selected codes in “head” tag.

Now you can add the sitemap.

5.Click on the “addsite map” and select the “Add general web sitemap”

Then type the uRL of feed atom of your blog.
Eg:- http//your_url.blogspot.com/atom.xml

You should see this message.

Now you have successfully added your sitemap in Google Webmaster tool.

  1. Yes,You can do it!.I also did it by using atom.xml in my blogspot site

  2. I’m not having any luck with this. When I click on my atom feed I get the following.

    /feeds/posts/default

I can’t submit that to Google. Any ideas?

  3. But this will not work if u update your blog a lot. example your site has 34 posts but the sitemap created by feeds only has 25 links.

you’re telling actually how to submit an xml feed, not a real sitemap, so the headline is a bit wrong here, a sitemap is different from a feed.
