Tired of the generic ringtones that are on your iPhone as well as the very common ringtones available that basically make your ears bleed? Create your own ringtones to pimp up your iPhone! Yes that’s right, you don’t have to succumb to these boring and novelty junk that are made available. To make your own ringtone is very simple. What’s so amazing about it is that after you have learned how, you can basically create ringtones for yourself and then on!
You will not need other outside programs or software for this. All you need is your iTunes program and needless to say, your iPhone.
Of course this operation will start by you picking a song. I am sure you would want a lot of songs to turn into ringtones for friends and such but sadly there’s no option to convert songs into ringtones in bulk. After picking that one song you want to test this on and be your very first self made ringtone in the process, right click on it and choose “Get Info”.
Under Options menu is the Stop Time option. In this option you will choose how long your ringtone’s going to be. Ringtones usually last until 30 seconds so you should be reminded to choose durations that last for more or less 30 seconds.
After making an input of your desired time, go to Advanced menu and click on Create AAC version. Upon having this done, go back to your music list and click on your chosen song. Right click on the song and Get Info, Options and then Stop Time. Remove the changes you have made a while ago for your ringtone. Not doing this would result for your chosen song to not play in full as it is going to stop according to your chosen duration of your ringtone.
When you are done, change your ringtone’s file extension from .m4a to .m4a. Once you have done that successfully, your ringtone will then be visible under the ringtones category on the left side bar of your iTunes. The last step would be to sync your iPhone to your iTunes.
